It's the eve of New Year's Eve; a sense of excitement, anxiety, anticipation, a little sadness, a lot of joy all because we are ending one year and beginning a new one. I have not completed my Christmas card sending; so they will become Valentine's wishes. And there are so many left-over 'treats' from Christmas that I cannot, I will not finish. There are several "things" that are left undone by the coming of 12/31/08. And yet the sun will set, the sun will rise, set and rise and it will be 2009.
Reflection of goals, things we did accomplish and stuff we did not ... all of this creates the myriad feelings that surround me during this time of year. The beginning of a new year ... we say "Happy New Year". Yet, I have found that by reflecting emotionally and spiritually, on the happiness and holiness of the year, that I have accomplished much more than I might see physically ...
So how do you finish well and start anew each year? How do you move forward on this day-by-day journey? I would really love to hear from you ... and here's to wishing you a Happy and Holy New Year.
